Change?

I’m wrestling with this notion of change…

As I say on my profile page,

“I used to think that people change. Then I shifted to thinking that things change. Now I don’t really think anything changes or doesn’t change. I just think that we shift our awareness. Is that change?”

I really think nobody says it better than U2 (this one’s for you, Stephen).

I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

I really haven’t…shifted my awareness in the right direction yet.  When is it that we learn how?  Now?

“Without accepting the fact that everything changes, we cannot find perfect composure.  But unfortunately, although it is true, it is difficult for us to accept it.  Because we cannot accept the truth of transience, we suffer.”  ~Shunryu Suzuki

Seems like the ultimate double bind that I have created for myself…

…oh, well.

Be well, and at peace,

Phil

One Comment on “Change?”

  1. Just remember that the sages often contradict one another. That’s because in the final analysis they’re just people who say stuff.
