A Little Help From My Friends

…in da Bronx, that is!  Thanks to Dufour Pastry Kitchens, the galette des rois for tonight’s dinner turned out perfect.

fit for a king

So, you know, it’s OK to get a little help with a difficult task.  Of course, the frangipane in the middle is still homemade–using Julia’s recipe.  Having a convection oven didn’t hurt either.  The other important step is to bake it long enough that you are absolutely sure it will not fall.  And it didn’t!

Reports on how it tasted come later, but for now, everything looks good.
