Alma Redemptoris Mater

Loving Mother of our Savior, hear thou thy people’s cry
Star of the deep and Portal of the sky!
Mother of Him who thee made from nothing made.
Sinking we strive and call to thee for aid:
Oh, by what joy which Gabriel brought to thee,
Thou Virgin first and last, let us thy mercy see.

Palestrina – Alma Redemptoris Mater

Today someone told me that it is the season of “wills” and “shalls.”

Do you ever have trouble looking forward to something?

Well, it doesn’t hurt to ask for a little help.

still a bit of a flame, but not easy to see

Dream Deferred

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore–
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over–
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

~Langston Hughes

Be well, and at peace,

Phil
