Fly Away Home

autumn cloud

Can you tell that Autumn has begun in Ohio?

A walk during lunch at Big Run Park was definitely in order.  Such a sky, with lone puffy clouds here and there.  Walking a bit off the beaten path, look who appeared on a thistle stalk…

Now, seeing that made me think of the nursery rhyme…

Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home.
Your house is on fire;
Your children all roam.
Except little Nan
Who sits in her pan
Weaving her laces as fast as she can.

Actually, some people think that Nan’s lace is her pupal case!  So, she’s waiting to hatch…seems a little late in the season for that, so I’ll go with the floral variety instead.

Learn about the ladybug as a totem here.

If that is all true, what amazing adventures could be waiting around the corner?
