Let Me Now Sing…

…of my friend, my friend’s song concerning his vineyard. My friend had a vineyard…     ~Isaiah 5:1

Today’s Readings

Actually, a family in an old neighborhood on the south end of Columbus had a grapevine.  Nobody knows how old it is, but it probably has been there since the house was built, about 100 years ago.

For years, the family that lived in that little house picked those sweet grapes, and crushed them, and strained the juice, and put it in bottles, in the cellar of that old house.  And who knows what was living in that basement, with those musty odours, and rough limestone walls.

One year, that grape juice, as it was fermenting, did an extra special dance in those bottles with something special in that basement, and much to that family’s surprise, when they opened those bottles, they got an extra pop and fizz, because what came out was sparkling!

And the moral of that story is…well, maybe that’s for you to figure out!

Be well, and at peace,
