Camp Chase

Camp Chase is one of those tucked-away surprises on the west side of Columbus.  Surrounded by urban development, walking in through the wrought iron gate can transport you to another time and place.  All that remains today is a cemetary containing the remains of over 2200 Confederate prisoners of war.

It was funny, how I had the silly obsession of finding the stone that was number one in the cemetary, and how in the end, being first really didn’t matter, did it?
