Perched in Solitude

What an amazing week!

While a lot happened, I somehow managed to remain perched in stillness throughout much of it–even on Friday in the middle of the French Quarter!  Now that is something else!

After going through hundreds of photographs, it seemed quite difficult to know where to start…until now.  So, I start here.  This is not the beginning, but perhaps it was the beginning of something.

(many thanks to Norbert LeBlanc, and my telephoto lens, for helping to make that photo happen!)

I told a friend from Blue Heron Sangha tonight this:

“Herons are great teachers for mindfulness, as they sit perched in stillness and silence for much of their day, simply observing what is going on, and then taking action at the right moment.”

Not such a strange bird, is it?

Here’s another one for you to ponder.

Enjoy!
