Shared Light

sign of hope

sign of hope

Ever thought about all the candles that have ever been lit on behalf of someone?

Right.

It’s interesting how a simple object like that, with a cotton string up the middle of a column of wax can bring so much hope.

Sometimes candles remind us of someone who’s there, even when we’re not paying attention to that.  Sometimes they can remind us that we are there, even when we don’t realize it.  Like a breath.

Here’s a passage from Satir’s Meditations & Inspirations:

Togetherness

Be as aware as you can, of being with these people

at this moment,

Just being with them.

Be aware of whatever

thoughts

feelings

connections

move through your head

relative to these people

Be aware of what’s relative to

the whole way we look at families

And relative to the phenomenon

of what it means to be fully human.

Be in touch with this, because

this is the resource of your learning.

Thomas Tallis–O Nata Lux

Know that we all are one, wherever we are.

Be well, and at peace,

Phil
