All Systems Go

holy angels in my hall

angels on my shoulder?

How do you know when it’s right?  Waiting for a message from an angel on your shoulder?

Have you ever heard someone say…

“I just get a feeling in my gut”

“Everything becomes clear”

“That resonates with me” (my favorite)

Sometimes people’s actions and words don’t seem to line up.

Incongruence

There’s more than one way of looking at this.  Some people tend to take the “actions speak louder than words” position, and give presidence to the body language.  Others might choose to ignore the nonverbal messages, and focus on the language patterns.  Then again, you could fully acknowledge all communication as valid. After all, how many times have you said, “Part of me wants A, but another part of me wants B?”

The next time you have a conversation with someone, and the verbals and non-verbals are mismatched, you could try one of several things, depending on your level of rapport with the other person.

“I know what you’re saying, and sure, it makes sense (A); I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel (B).  What do you think about that?

Or, if you’re really good friends, just look ’em in the eye, and say,

“Have you ever noticed (with a twinkle in your eye) how some people’s words say one thing, and their hands say another!  Interesting, isn’t it…”

Then, just stand back, and see what happens next!

Or, maybe you can come up with a different plan of action!  Or, you can begin to notice these patterns in yourself!  Who knows…all your parts could end up finally…

Happy Together!

Be well, and at peace,

Phil
