Saying “Yes.”

Immaculate Conception–Readings

I confess that I struggle with this doctrine. The Church teaches us that we should look to Mary as our exemplar, and yet she was born without sin!

American Catholic–The Immaculate Conception

However, I love the story of the annunciation, which is today’s Gospel reading. Here is my favorite way to tell it:

It’s all about saying yes.

And that is enough said.

Rachmaninoff–Bogoroditse Devo

(Translation)

Rejoice, O Virgin Mother Of God,
Mary full of grace, the Lord is with You.
Blessed are You among women,
and blessed is the Fruit of Your womb,
for You have borne the Savior of our souls.

Be well, and at peace,

Phil
