Born To Shine

Readings for Today, 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A

Pay close attention to the second reading, and then fit the parable from the Gospel inside…

The following quote is often attributed to Nelson Mandela, but cannot be confirmed.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you NOT to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel unsure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

(Marianne Williamson)

One of the presuppositions in NLP is that “the resources individuals need in order to effect a change are already within them.”

Can you believe that this gift has been placed in you, to shine? That there is something brilliant in you? That there is something worth investing in?

This Little Light of Mine–The Steeles

Is it time to leave the safety of inertia…and begin to share with the world that which burns brightly from you.

Holding promise!

Holding promise!

Be well, and at peace.
