Dinner in Clay City

We sat down to the most magnificent homecooked meal. Here was the menu:

Tomato Juice Cocktail (freshly made with homegrown tomatoes)

Baked Chicken

Baked Beans (homemade)

Cole Slaw (homemade)

Custard Pie and Blueberry Pie

It was not long after we sat down to the table and began eating, that a holy hush came over the dining room. The only sound was the gentle scraping of knife and fork against the durable Pfalzgraff plates.

I told Doris that it was the greatest compliment to the cook. And it was.

Be well, and at peace,

Phil
