For a few weeks now, I have been practicing Autogenic Training. It was a technique developed in Germany in the first half of the 20th Century, by Johannes Schultz. Autogenics seeks to help the person who practices to gain greater control and balance in the autonomic nervous system. It works by restoring balance between sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) systems.
The results that I have gained from the practice of AT are astounding! I am using Dr. Kai Kermani’s book, Autogenic Training: The Effective Way to Better Holistic Health. You can currently purchase this book used on Amazon.com for less than seven dollars! Dr. Kermani’s book is easy to follow–the protocols are clearly outlined and repeated, and the plan he lays out is excellent!
Comparative studies have shown significant positive effects for patients who used AT in a number of diagnoses. Personally, I have found it useful in reducing the effects of stress, and improving muscular flexibility.
